Utah Lands Elite USC WR Transfer Dorian Singer
USA TODAY Sports

The Utah Utes wide receiver situation at the conclusion of the 2023 season was less than ideal.

They lost leading receiver Devaugh Vele to the NFL Draft, and promising freshman receiver Mikey Matthews opted to transfer to Cal. This had many worried about what the receiver situation would be like in 2024 when the Utes make the jump over to the Big 12, where some expect them to dominate right away

With seventh-year quarterback Cam Rising returning, the Utes were able to add UCLA tight end transfer Carsen Ryan, Washington receiver Taeshaun Lyons, and also bring back star tight end Brant Kuithe. However, they still needed at least one more receiver to come in and really solidify this offense, and on Monday they landed who should be their top pass-catcher.

Former Arizona and USC receiver Dorian Singer, was revealed via a social media post to have transferred to Utah.

Back in 2021, Singer exploded for the Wildcats as he racked up 1,105 yards with six touchdowns on 66 receptions. This showing led to him being named first-team All-Pac-12 and also led to him having a ton of interest once he entered the transfer portal. He ended up transferring to USC to team up with Caleb Williams where the two were expected to form a dynamic duo, but he ended up seeing a decline in numbers with just 24 catches for 289 yards and two scores.

In Salt Lake City, he will likely end up being the team's featured receiver with him and Cam Rising both looking to have bounce-back seasons after a disappointing 2023.
