Utah Set To Host UCLA TE Transfer Carsen Ryan For Official Vist
USA TODAY Sports

While Utah is hoping that they will return star tight end Brant Kuithe for his seventh season in 2024, they appear to possibly be planning for life without him.

On top of hosting Arizona State transfer Jalin Conyers for a visit, it was also reported on Thursday that UCLA tight end transfer Carsen Ryan will be taking a trip to his home-state program. According to 247Sports, Ryan will be visiting Utah next week after spending the past two seasons at UCLA.

The Orem, Utah native has a unique build and skill set as he has been listed by UCLA as a running back, but is used more so as a tight end or h-back. Standing in at 6-foot-4 255 pounds, Ryan had a productive year for the Bruins, recording 13 catches for 205 yards, and three scores.

Tight end has typically been where Utah has made its money on offense with names like Kuithe and Dalton Kincaid standing out, but this season they got just 26 catches for 297 yards and five touchdowns between their three tight ends that saw action. With how much of a need tight end is in their offense, it truly wouldn't be shocking to see them bring in a couple more to add depth to the position as the Utes look to make a run for the Big 12 title in year one.
