According to a report from 247Sports' Washington affiliate, former Texas wide receiver transfer Johntay Cook II and the UW football coaches have agreed to part ways as of Tuesday night.
Cook, a five-star recruit out of DeSoto High School in the 2023 class, chose the Huskies over Florida in December after he left the Longhorns' program in a similar fashion back in November.
Listed at 6-foot, 186-pounds as a sophomore at UT, the Lone Star State native played in 20 games over two seasons in Austin, recording 16 catches for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns for coach Steve Sarkisian before departing the school.

The UW coaches are expected to still search for another experienced wide receiver to replace Cook's spot on the roster before spring practice begins.
Given how the DeSoto native ended his time with the Longhorns his addition in Seattle was viewed as a high risk, high reward transfer having underperformed thus far over his two seasons at the college level compared to his five-star ranking.
