LSU fired Brian Kelly on Sunday after a 49-25 loss to No. 3 Texas A&M at Tiger Stadium as the Tigers fell to 5-3 and out of the top 25.

LSU came into the season ranked No. 9 and got off to a 4-0 start. The Tigers have since gone 1-3 with losses to then-ranked No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 17 Vanderbilt and Texas A&M.

Kelly was in his fourth season with the team and finished with an overall record of 34-14 with three bowl appearances. However, he never reached the College Football Playoff with LSU.

Kelly was seen leaving the LSU facility in a video posted on X shortly after a team meeting in which he was fired.

The video, posted by NBC 33 and Fox 44 Sports Director and Anchor Brian Holland, has now gotten over two million views on X.

Kelly came to LSU in 2022 after spending 12 years with Notre Dame. He took the Fighting Irish to 10 bowl games and finished with a 5-5 postseason record. Kelly brought Notre Dame to the CFP twice in 2018 and 2020, but lost in the first round each time.

Before Notre Dame, he was with Cincinnati from 2006-09 and Central Michigan from 2004-06.

Kelly and LSU kept pace with Texas A&M in the first half of Saturday's game, going into halftime up 18-14. However, the Aggies allowed only one more touchdown in the second half.

LSU is now going to be led by interim head coach Frank Wilson, who was the program's associate head coach on Kelly's staff.

Wilson will not have an easy transition into the interim head coaching role, as he takes on No. 4 Alabama in his first game. The Crimson Tide is on a seven-game winning streak under head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Luckily for Wilson, he will have a bye week before facing Alabama on Nov. 8.
