The Tennessee Vols are one of several programs that are pursuing USC transfer wide receiver Zachariah Branch, and his brother safety Zion Branch.
Miami, Georgia, Arizona State, and Texas are also in the mix for the Branch brothers.
On Thursday, the Branch brothers took a visit to Miami. For now, they don't have a visit scheduled to Tennessee.
VolQuest's Brent Hubbs joined 104.5 The Zone's Ramon, Kayla, and Will on Friday and he confirmed that Tennessee is interested in getting Zachariah and Zion on campus. But as Hubbs noted, until that visit is set up, nothing is "real" for the Vols in this battle.
"That's the conversation -- will you come visit? Will you come see us? We have a need. We would love for you to come to campus, and we'd love for you to take a visit," explained Hubbs. "And that's where the conversation starter is, is come take a look at us. And right now, they don't have anything scheduled, so we'll see if that materializes into a visit, or if it doesn't materialize into a visit. They've been at Miami on a visit. Texas has tried to get involved there. Georgia is involved there. We saw Georgia play yesterday. Their drops resurfaced yesterday. They've had a horrible year dropping the football at the receiver position. They clearly are looking for receiver help. So to me, with the Branch brothers, nothing gets real until they step foot on campus. And right now, they don't have a visit schedule.
"So that's what Tennessee is trying to do everyday with Branch's people. [Tennessee is] trying to convince them to swing through, whether it's for four hours or for 48 hours, come through and take a look at campus. And to this point, they have not committed to doing that."
Zachariah is a former five-star recruit who caught 47 passes for 503 yards and a touchdown as a sophomore at USC in 2024.
Zion, meanwhile, is a former four-star recruit who totaled 41 tackles, three tackles for loss, and a sack over the last two seasons at USC.
