Wake Forest Lands Highly Productive Quarterback From The Transfer Portal

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons had a season to forget in 2023. They finished last in the ACC after being 11-3 two years ago. The program is looking to reload and the transfer portal is the perfect place to find talent. They landed a highly productive quarterback, Hank Bachmeier, out of the portal on Sunday morning.

Wake Forest Lands QB Hank Bachmeier Via The Transfer Portal

Bachmeier spent last season at Louisiana Tech but also spent time with the Boise State program. The sixth-year senior was looking for an opportunity to play for a larger program and has landed with the Demon Deacons. In his career, he has thrown for 8,663 yards and 51 touchdowns. While he is not the top-rated quarterback in the portal, this is still a great commitment for the program.

Bounce Back In 2024?

Again, two years ago, this team was representing their division in the ACC Championship game. Now they have to climb out of the basement. They have lost some of their more productive players but in the era of player movement, this is something that every program has to navigate. The good news is that the ACC does not have too many powerhouse programs currently. A lot of the programs are having similar problems that the Demon Deacons are having, past success but struggling now.

Wake Forest seems to have their quarterback for 2024. Now the challenge is to fill in the gaps on the roster so they can compete for the ACC.
