Washington State QB Cameron Ward Declares for 2024 NFL Draft
USA TODAY Sports
Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward is declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft, making his announcement via social media on Monday. A transfer from Incarnate Word, Ward put up impressive numbers over the past two seasons for the Cougars, and appeared to be looking for a new destination in the transfer portal. Ultimately, he decided to go ahead and make the leap to the next level. A creative playmaker who makes highlight-reel moments happen when the pocket breaks down, Ward has plenty of impressive traits that should allow him to make an impact as an NFL starter, including the ability to change his arm angles and get the ball out quickly with a smooth release. In a 2024 class that has some promising talent, but might be missing a couple of big names (Shedeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers), Ward has an opportunity to challenge the second tier of quarterbacks in this year's crop as a potential Day 2 selection.
