Watch: Clemson QB Cade Klubnik's long TD run vs. NC State keeps Tigers rolling

Clemson hit the ground running in its ACC opener against NC State.

Quarterback Cade Klubnik scored an opening-drive touchdown on the Tigers' fourth offensive play, a 55-yard run.

ESPN's Sean McDonough noted during the broadcast that Klubnik's scamper was the longest run by a Clemson quarterback since Trevor Lawrence's 67-yard touchdown run against Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinal game at the Fiesta Bowl during the 2019 season.

Associated Press No. 21 Clemson (1-1) has responded well after a resounding  34-3 Week 1 loss against No. 2 Georgia (3-0).

In Week 2, the Tigers blew out Appalachian State, 66-20, before their Week 3 bye.

The week off didn't cool down Clemson, which scored possessions on its first four offensive possessions against NC State.

The Wolfpack appear to be toothless after beginning the season ranked. In Week 2, NC State (2-1) lost decisively at home against No. 6 Tennessee (3-0), 51-10.

Going into the second quarter, it trails 28-0.

NC State is much worse than anticipated, while Clemson isn't nearly as bad as its opening-game loss against Georgia implied.

At least early in Week 4, we're seeing how wide the gap is between the two programs.
