Watch: Drew Allar, Dani Dennis-Sutton Break Down Win Over Northwestern

Evanston, IL— It wasn’t the best of times for Penn State’s offense Saturday afternoon in Evanston.

The team only scored 10 points in the first half against a Northwestern team that it came in as four-touchdown favorites over.

Penn State’s offense picked it up a bit in the second half, scoring 31 points.

But regardless of what the offense was doing, the defense was on its game almost all day, and QB Drew Allar was grateful.

“Very, very happy that they’re our defense,” Allar, who finished the day 18-for-33 with 189 yards and two touchdowns passing, told reporters after the game. “They had our backs when we weren’t doing well in the beginning, and then we finally picked it up in the second half, and they still did their thing on defense.”
