Watch: Jackson State two-way phenom Travis Hunter grabs a receiving TD and a pick-six against Alcorn State

Jackson State's Travis Hunter had a performance on Saturday against Alcorn state that undoubtedly made his head coach, Deion Sanders, proud.

The electric freshman has proven to be impactful on both sides of the ball, much like his head coach used to be. On Saturday, Hunter came away with a receiving touchdown on offense and a pick-six on defense, helping lead Jackson State to a 23-13 victory.

With Jackson State leading by only a field goal, 10-7, in the third quarter, Hunter intercepted Braves' quarterback Tre Lawrence and returned it 44-yards for six points.

Hunter's second score of the night was just as significant as his first. Three minutes after Alcorn State cut the Tigers' lead to 17-13 with a field goal, Hunter helped seal the victory. Hunter capped off a seven-play, 68-yard drive with a 19-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Hunter finished with two receptions, coming on the same drive, for a team-high 49 yards and a score.

On the year, Hunter has recorded 11 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown, with four tackles, four pass defenses, and an interception in three games.

Jackson State's win propelled them to the program's first-ever 11-0 regular season record. The Tigers also wrapped up their second straight perfect season against the SWAC, moving to 8-0.
