Watch: Ladd McConkey's improvisation helps Georgia blow out Florida State

Georgia could do no wrong against Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Even a failed trick play resulted in a touchdown.

In the second quarter of Georgia's 63-3 romp over Florida State, junior wide receiver Ladd McConkey made arguably the game's best play when he turned a designed wide-receiver throw into a 27-yard rushing touchdown.

Quarterback Carson Beck threw a backward lateral to McConkey, who surveyed the field trying to find an open wide receiver. With everyone locked up downfield, McConkey tucked the ball, cut through the Seminoles defense, and scored.

McConkey is eligible for the 2024 NFL Draft, and while he hasn't decided yet, his thrilling touchdown is a perfect example of his big-play ability. It was his fourth career rushing touchdown on only 15 career attempts.

In Dane Brugler's most recent big board for The Athletic from Nov. 1, 2023, McConkey ranked as the 48th-best prospect overall and 10th-best wide receiver. He's also No. 37 overall on ESPN's big board, good for eighth among wide receivers.

Ahead of the Orange Bowl, McConkey discussed his upcoming decision and how he'll come to a determination. He noted that a part of his answer will come down to "if I feel like I haven't done enough here, if I need to do more."

McConkey's been on two national championship teams and was part of the biggest rout in bowl game history. We'd say he's done more than enough.
