Michigan senior offensive lineman Stephen Spanellis showed on Saturday exactly what it means to play to the whistle.

Spanellis went viral for this unbelievable pancake block on a poor Notre Dame defender late in the Wolverines’ 45-14 win over the Fighting Irish. Take a look:

After being praised on Twitter by Michigan legend Charles Woodson, Spanellis called himself a “garbage time MVP.”

Hey, that’s the least he can call himself after that block. Jim Harbaugh probably loves it.
