Watch: Michigan State lineman ejected for cheap shot on defenseless Michigan player

The rivalry between Michigan and Michigan State got ugly on Saturday, leading to the ejection of one player.

Early in the third quarter, with the Wolverines up big, 21-0, offensive lineman Spencer Brown took his frustrations out on a defenseless opponent. Following a pick-six by quarterback Katin Houser, Brown threw Michigan defensive lineman Braiden McGregor face-first onto the turf before spearing him helmet-first in the back of the head.

It's unsurprising to see tensions run high between Michigan and Michigan State, especially in a one-sided game. However, Brown's actions are reprehensible.

Officials handed down a personal foul penalty and booted Brown from the contest, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the NCAA take action after such a dirty play where there was seemingly an intent to injure.
