The San Francisco 49ers selected Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams with the 11th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team hopes he can provide an immediate boost to a defensive front hit hard by offseason departures.

Williams (6-5, 260) tallied 21 tackles (nine for loss), five sacks, two passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in 12 games and six starts in 2024, according to Sports Reference. He played through an ankle injury suffered in the season opener.
Over his three-year college career, Williams totaled 67 tackles (23 for loss), 14 sacks, four passes defensed, and three forced fumbles.
