Florida and Miami ushered in a new college football season with a very sloppy game on Saturday night in Orlando, one that left Steve Spurrier shaking his head.
The former Gators coach was a special attendee of the game and was shown by ESPN reacting to a late Feleipe Franks interception that gave the Hurricanes a chance to win it in the fourth quarter.

Spurrier’s reaction made total sense. The Gators had just forced Miami to turn the ball over on downs, and there was Franks giving it right back to them on the next play. Franks threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in the game. The Gators turned the ball over four times but still won, 24-20.
That kind of sloppy play would never fly for the reigning AAF champion.
