Watch: Western Kentucky completes wild comeback to win Famous Toastery Bowl

This is how Western Kentucky's 38-35 overtime win over Old Dominion in the Famous Toastery Bowl began:

This is how it ended:

The Monarchs had to do everything wrong to lose to the Hilltoppers after building a 28-0 second-quarter lead, forcing five turnovers and having a win probability north of 90% for the majority of the game. They did exactly that.

Old Dominion appeared as though it had avoided an epic collapse after linebacker Wayne Matthews III forced a fumble that was recovered by safety Markus Knight and returned to Western Kentucky's 35-yard line with under five minutes remaining.

However, that was the final highlight for the Monarchs. Hilltoppers lineman Marshall Jackson blocked Old Dominion kicker Ethan Sanchez's 47-yard field goal attempt on the ensuing drive.

From there, Western Kentucky quarterback Caden Veltkamp connected with wide receiver K.D. Hutchinson on a fourth-and-goal from Old Dominion's 15-yard line with 19 seconds remaining.

Then, before the Hilltoppers' walk-off field goal, they blocked another attempt by Sanchez after the Monarchs had a first-and-goal from the 1-yard line in overtime.

Old Dominion had every opportunity to win the Famous Toastery Bowl. Instead, it humiliatingly imploded. Bowl season routinely delivers wild results. We got our first one on Monday.
