Penn State defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton wants  his team to land a DL who just entered the transfer portal from Florida State.

Ayobami Tifase is a 6-foot-4, 299-pounder who played at FSU for two seasons.

Tifase announced his entry into the transfer portal Tuesday evening.

Less than 10 minutes after Tifase sent his post, Dennis-Sutton quoted it with a pretty clear message:

“Penn State family,” DDD wrote. “We need him! #WeAre”

Dennis-Sutton went on to tag the accounts of head coach James Franklin and Director of Player Personnel Kenny Sanders. Before committing to Florida State as a three-star recruit, Tifase starred at Baltimore’s Concordia Prep. Dennis-Sutton is from Delaware originally, but played high school football at the McDonough School, which is less than a half hour from Baltimore. Both players were part of the 2022 signing class, with Dennis-Sutton being the No. 1 overall player in Maryland and Tifase being ranked No. 9 in the state.

Tifase hasn’t had much of a chance to show what he can do at Florida State, redshirting his first season and ending Year 2 with one tackle.

Penn State figures to be targeting interior defensive linemen in the transfer portal. This years line featured fifth-year seniors Dvon Ellies and Hakeem Beamon, who have the option to come back next season but could choose not to. A recent interior DL who had a successful career at PSU was PJ Mustipher, who, like Dennis-Sutton, played at the McDonough School. The current PSU DL also features Coziah Izzard, who would be a a fifth-year in 2024. Izzard played at DeMatha, which is less than an hour from Concordia.
