The scene in Dublin is shaping up to be as balanced as the matchup on the field. Both Kansas State and Iowa State sold approximately 11,000 tickets each for Saturday’s Week 0 Farmageddon showdown, creating a nearly even split in the stands.

Aviva Stadium, the home of the Dublin matchup, has been transformed into a sea of purple and cardinal. The crowd is expected to be split right down the middle, giving both teams the feel of a home atmosphere despite being nearly 4,000 miles away from the Midwest.

For Kansas State, the turnout reflects a fan base energized by national buzz around quarterback Avery Johnson and the Wildcats’ preseason positioning as Big 12 contenders. The Wildcats have traveled well in recent years, and their presence overseas is another sign of the program’s growing profile.

Iowa State’s fan base has long been known for its loyalty, and the Cyclones’ showing in Dublin proves no different. With head coach Matt Campbell entering another pivotal season, the strong traveling contingent underscores the program’s place as one of the Big 12’s most passionately supported teams.

The even split between purple and cardinal adds another layer to what was already a marquee opener. A conference game on international soil already carries intrigue, but the balance of fan support ensures the environment will feel every bit like a rivalry matchup.

As much as Saturday will be about the battle in the trenches and the quarterbacks on each side, the atmosphere in Aviva Stadium will stand out as one of the most memorable parts of the Big 12’s first trip to Ireland.
