It didn’t take long for Pat McAfee to become the talk of "College GameDay" on Saturday, as the show hosted its Week 5 episode on the Penn State Nittany Lions campus ahead of the massive showdown against No. 6 Oregon.
With Saturday night’s game scheduled as a “white out” for the 100,000-plus fans expected at the stadium, the entire "College GameDay" crew opted to wear all-white suits—though McAfee added his own twist.
McAfee sported a more cream colored off-white suit that drew plenty of attention while sitting among Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Nick Saban, and Kirk Herbstreit, who were all dressed identically.

After the episode, McAfee explained the reason for his choice, which had to do with Oregon head coach Dan Lanning.
According to Oregon beat reporter Zachary Neel of USA Today, Lanning reportedly texted McAfee in the morning, giving him a hard time about wearing white ahead of the white-out.
The matchup is set to be one of the most anticipated of the college football season and will coincide with No. 17 Alabama vs. No. 5 Georgia, as both games are scheduled to kickoff on separate networks at 7:30 p.m. EST.
It marks a rematch of the 2024 Big Ten Championship, held in Indianapolis, which the Ducks won in their first season as Big Ten members.
Both teams enter the contest unbeaten, but neither has faced much of a challenge during non-conference play. The Ducks played Oklahoma State and Oregon State, but neither team has been particularly competitive this season.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Penn State is currently a 3.5-point favorite—likely the only time this season that Oregon will be an underdog on their schedule.
