The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have been a model of consistency in the CFL for years, having been a fixture of the Grey Cup for five consecutive seasons now.

One player who helped the Bombers achieve this success is wide receiver Drew Wolitarsky, who has spent seven seasons with the storied franchise. Now, that's all about to change for the veteran receiver.

According to 3 Down Nation, the Blue Bombers have released Wolitarsky following seven years with the blue and gold.

Through seven seasons with the Bombers, Wolitarsky won two Grey Cups with Winnipeg and put up solid numbers, tallying 2,954 yards on 227 receptions. He also caught 18 touchdowns.

His career high season came in 2023, when he put up 668 yards and six touchdowns while playing all 18 games. The Bombers would then reach the Grey Cup but lose to the Montreal Alouettes.

In the 2024 season, Wolitarsky produced 403 yards on 33 receptions and only tallied one score.

Wolitarsky played his college ball at the University of Minnesota and would be an integral part of their 2016 Holiday Bowl-winning team. Through his four seasons in Minnesota, Wolitarsky racked up 130 receptions for over 1,700 yards and nine scores.

Following his release from Winnipeg, it’s unclear where he plans to sign next when free agency window opens on Feb 11. Whoever the 29-year-old receiver signs with should have a solid option at the position until he retires.
