The Wisconsin Badgers have received a third expert prediction for a top in-state tackle in the 2027 class with deep ties to the program.

Cole Reiter, a 2027 four-star offensive tackle, has been a primary target within the 2027 class for the Badgers since the rankings opened. The Badgers were the third Division I program to offer Reiter and have kept a close line of contact with the recruit since extending the offer. Reiter has only been on campus numerous times, and previously received two of his expert predictions after spending time on campus.

Other programs such as Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa State, and Michigan State have offered and pushed for Reiter as well. However, staying in the state of Wisconsin appears to be something that the offensive tackle is very comfortable with, and could be what ultimately seals the deal.

Wisconsin Badgers Add Third Crystal Ball Prediction for Four-Star Offensive Tackle Cole Reiter

While receiving an expert prediction is big for Wisconsin, this one means a bit more as this pick is now the third prediction projecting Reiter to land in Madison. The 247Sports staff already logged two predictions in for Reiter earlier in the month after the recruit was on campus and met with the staff once again. Despite offers from Sacramento State, Ohio State, Indiana, and Minnesota funneling in recently, Wisconsin remains the top dog.

The catalyst for the Wisconsin Badgers in the recruitment of Reiter has been the staff, with head coach Luke Fickell and offensive line coach AJ Blazek leading the way. Blazek has kept close contact with Reiter and been the main source of communication between the two sides.

Fickell, however, has clearly placed a premium on landing in-state talent within the 2027 class due to the talent set to hit the next level. Korz Loken, Reiter, and Richie Flanigan headline the in-state class as premier four-star recruits with national offers and exposure. Isaac Miller is another recruit from within the state that the Badgers would love to add to their 2027 class in the near future.

How Valuable Would a Commitment From Cole Reiter be for the Wisconsin Badgers?

Wisconsin Football Set to Return to Powerful Offensive Line Roots For 2025 Season 3 Wisconsin offensive line coach AJ Blazek works with J.P. Benzschawel during the team’s 10th spring practice, which was held on a practice field north of Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday April 20, 2024.

Landing Reiter would be a monumental win for the staff as the Badgers essentially locked-up the recruitment of the offensive tackle from start to finish. Wisconsin was the first power conference program to offer Reiter and have been the favorite to land a commitment from the recruit since this start. Sacramento State recently offered Reiter and picked up some momentum, but the Badgers have been the main focus for the offense tackle.

Reiter is currently the 17th offensive tackle in the 2027 class and the second overall recruit in the state of Wisconsin. The Badgers have not landed a recruit of the caliber of Reiter (Composite rating of 93) since landing Joe Brunner (Composite rating of 96) in the 2022 class.
