The Wisconsin Badgers have officially found out who will be a ranked opponent this upcoming season after an initial poll was released.

In the first preseason rankings poll, the Badgers discovered which teams the media will be expecting to have great seasons and great rosters. Heading into the season, the Wisconsin Badgers are expected to play one of the toughest schedules in the country, and now the rankings officially back-up those claims for the Badgers.

Wisconsin is set to play against #8 Alabama, #14 Michigan, #3 Ohio State, #7 Oregon, #20 Indiana, and #12 Illinois. The six ranked opponents that are set to face Wisconsin during the upcoming season all pose different threats, but five of the programs are Big Ten Conference teams, thus adding more pressure to win on the staff and players.

Wisconsin Badgers Schedule Continue to Grow Strong as Season Inches Closer

Without playing a game, the schedule continues to become more difficult for Wisconsin as the opposing teams continue to look sharp. With the first preseason poll out, the media appears to be heavily favoring returning talent and the value that that talent will present during the season. Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana, and Illinois have all returned to the rankings in favorable positions after returning some of the best talent the Big Ten Conference has to offer.

The Wisconsin Badgers have returned some talent of their own while also adding great additions through the transfer portal. Despite doing so, the media and many analysts still do not think highly of the program during the 2025 season due to the fact that many other programs already had a better base and added to the base, while the Badgers have lost a great deal of talent to the transfer portal and graduation.

The upcoming season will be do-or-die for the Wisconsin Badgers as head coach Luke Fickell enters his third year leading the program. The Badgers previously finished with a record of 5-7 last season, snapping a two-decade long bowl streak that defined Wisconsin football for quite some time. The streak is over, the past is in the past, and now Wisconsin needs to produce.

Wisconsin staff members and Fickell himself will be the first people to tell you that the Badgers expect to win a minimum of six games this season. Wisconsin will return to bowl eligibility without a doubt in the eyes of the staff as winning is something that must happen regardless of the strength of schedule.
