Wisconsin bolsters QB room by landing Mississippi State transfer Braedyn Locke

New head coach Luke Fickell has hit the ground running at Wisconsin and he's used the transfer portal to give his program quite the offseason boost.

Fickell has, specifically, cleaned up recently amongst transfer quarterbacks, and former four-star quarterback Braedyn Locke, transferring from Mississippi State, is his latest haul.

Locke didn't play at Mississippi State as a true freshman in 2022, but he has high upside and could end up being quite the commitment for the Badgers.

As a recruit, he was ranked as the No. 22 quarterback in his class, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

He threw for 3,657 yards and 36 touchdowns (11 interceptions) as a senior at Rockwall High School in Texas.

Fickell and the Badgers now have a stacked quarterback room that now features Tanner Mordecai, a graduate senior who just transferred to Wisconsin after throwing for 3,542 yards and 33 touchdowns (10 interceptions) last season at SMU.

Nick Evers, a former four-star recruit who rode the bench as a freshman at Oklahoma last season, also recently transferred to Wisconsin.
