Wisconsin Football Adds Former Arkansas Long Snapper via the Transfer Portal
USA TODAY Sports

Wisconsin football has added its sixth commitment of the day via the transfer portal.

Former Arkansas long snapper Eli Stein announced his commitment to Wisconsin on Monday night.

"Blessed to be home! On Wisconsin!" Stein said in his announcement.

Stein served as Arkansas' primary long snapper for two seasons. He started in 11 games as a freshman in 2022 before suffering an injury and in 2023, he started all 12 games. However, before the 2024 season, Arkansas announced Stein was no longer with the team. After a year away, Stein is back in action.

Former Badgers long snapper Cayson Pfeiffer, who transferred in from Cincinnati ahead of the 2024 season, used up the last of his eligibility, leaving UW with only redshirt freshman Deed Capper on the roster at long snapper. Stein will now take over to provide some stability and experience at the position.

Stein is now the ninth transfer addition for Wisconsin, joining Billy Edwards Jr, Matthew Traynor, Danny O'Neill, Charles Perkins, Corey Walker, Parker Petersen, Tanner Koziol, and Mason Regier. Wisconsin's transfer class currently sits at No. 9 in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten per the composite rankings.
