The Wisconsin football staff again dipped into the 2026 recruiting class to land another Florida based recruit.
Zion Legree, a three-star wide receiver from Florida, has committed to Wisconsin over West Virginia, Ohio State, Florida State, and others. Legree was previously an Ole Miss Rebels commitment before reopening his recruitment following multiple commitments within the Rebels class.
The Badgers extended a scholarship to Legree last month and worked quickly to have the recruit on campus before other programs got in touch with the talented receiver.
While the Wisconsin football program made a shocking appearance in Florida last year when landing defensive back Xavier Lucas, the state has become a mainstay for the program.
Landing Legree in the heart of SEC country is a major accomplishment for the program as the staff eyes becoming more aggressive as recruiters.
Fellow Florida wide receiver and four-star recruit Jayden Petit is also considering the Wisconsin football program and should announce a commitment in the coming days potentially after booking an unofficial visit with Wisconsin.
While Petit could potentially become a member of the Wisconsin football program in the future, Legree is ready to make a difference and the recruit has not even been part of the program for two days yet.
One anonymous Big Ten Conference coach noted that Legree is a potential “game changer” for the Wisconsin offense once the 2026 recruit touches down in Madison for good.
For the receiver, the name of the game is speed and it takes a special type of player just to stay with Legree. While Legree has amazing speed, the recruit also adds quick acceleration and a seemingly endless gas tank to his abilities. The receiver is a dynamic athlete, and given his ability to virtually never tire out, an offense can feed Legree the football without any issues.
