Wisconsin football will no longer have a class of 2025 quarterback joining the program, as Landyn Locke announced he had de-committed from Wisconsin.
"I have decommitted and am no longer signed to the University of Wisconsin. I am thankful for the oppotunity but my recruitment is 100% open," Locke said in his announcement.
The news comes just weeks after his older brother, Braedyn Locke, announced he would enter the transfer portal after two years with the program.
Locke had made things official with Wisconsin earlier this month on National Signing Day. He was originally part of a two-man QB class alongside four-star signee Carter Smith. The Rockwall, Texas native is ranked as the No. 64 QB in the 2025 recruiting class. He initially committed to UW over offers from SMU, Duke, North Texas, Tulsa, Western Kentucky, and others.
Locke suffered a torn ACL after competing in just three games his senior season. Prior to his injury, he threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns, per MaxPreps. He will now look for a new home and take some time to rehab before he is ready to go.
There has been a lot of activity in the quarterback room lately, as UW lost Tyler Van Dyke, Braedyn Locke, and Cole LaCrue to the transfer portal, but they've also recently landed commitments from Maryland transfer Billy Edwards Jr and San Diego State transfer Danny O'Neill.
After all the latest shuffling, Wisconsin's 2025 QB room will now consist of Edwards Jr, O'Neill, Carter Smith, Mabrey Mettauer, and walk-on Milos Spasojevic.
