Wisconsin football is projected to hit the transfer portal hard this offseason, but that comes with losing a couple pieces along the way.
Junior wide receiver Keontez Lewis officially entered the portal on Monday afternoon, joining fellow wide-outs Chimere Dike and Skyler Bell on their way out of Madison.

The 6’2″, 196 lbs. Illinois native recorded one catch for 12 yards against Buffalo before stepping away from the team and announcing his intentions to enter the portal. However, in 2022, Lewis played a key role in Wisconsin’s offense, putting up 313 yards on 20 receptions, with an impressive average of 15.6 yards per catch.
Lewis began his collegiate career at UCLA, joining the Bruins as a three-star, 89-overall recruit per 247 Sports. After one season in Los Angeles, he transferred to Wisconsin after spending about a month in the transfer portal.
Despite falling short of a starting position in the 2023 season under Luke Fickell, Lewis still has a lot to offer to another power-5 school. He was a stud in high school, recording an outstanding senior-year statline of ten touchdowns and 802 yard on 37 receptions.
Fickell and co. are expected to bolster Wisconsin’s offense through the transfer portal this offseason. If the additions of Will Pauling and Bryson Green were already enough to effect his minutes on the field, it’s reasonable to predict that the Badgers’ plans to add a few more wide-outs influenced Lewis’ decision to leave the program.
It’s an exciting time to be a college football fan. Stay tuned for more updates on Wisconsin football players in the transfer portal.
