Larry Moon III is one of the top recruits in the class of 2027, not just in Pittsburgh but in all college football.

Moon — a 5-foot-11, 180-pound defensive back from Aliquippa in Aliquippa, Pa. — picked up his latest offer Wednesday from an SEC program. Lane Kiffin and the Rebels extended an offer to Moon.

He now holds offers from Akron, Alabama, Auburn, CMU, EMU, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee, UCF, UNLV, USC, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Moon, who transferred to Central Catholic for his freshman season before moving back to Aliquippa this offseason, was a standout defender as a true freshman at CC.

He racked up 32 tackles (24 solo), four tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble.

Moon has been in the spotlight already this summer, competing at the Under Armour Next camp series in New Jersey last month and bringing home the defensive back MVP. Not only did Moon III come away with the defensive back honors, but he was the youngest player in attendance to get an award.

“It was truly an honor and I’m glad the coaches recognized my abilities,” Moon III told Pittsburgh Sports Now following his camp appearance. “I trusted in my technique and the coaching my coaches were giving to me and was the best DB at the camp,” Moon said.

He’s going to be one of the most highly-recruited prospects in the state by the time his actual class rolls around, which is still a ways away.
