Many of West Virginia's departures to the transfer portal thus far haven't moved the needle much. This one, does.
Friday afternoon, starting defensive lineman Mike Lockhart hit the portal. The news was first reported by Keenan Cummings of Rivals and has been confirmed by a source.
Lockhart tallied 21 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and had the key field goal block against TCU back in October. He transferred in from Georgia Tech in 2022 but will be departing as a grad transfer, meaning he'll have immediate eligibility at his next stop.
Lockhart has one year remaining.
