Hailing from Palestine, TX, Oklahoma Sooners legend Adrian Peterson came to OU as a member of the 2004 recruiting class.
20 years later, Peterson's younger brother is now stepping into the spotlight.
Nelson Peterson Jr., a 6-foot-3 quarterback out of Forney, TX, and the younger brother of the former 5-star running back, posted on social media that he will be attending the Sooners' "Future Freaks" recruiting event this Saturday, March 9.

Peterson Jr. is one of multiple 2026, 2027 and 2028 recruits who will be in attendance for the special weekend, joining highly touted young prospects like Dequane Prevo, Jordan Davis, Zaden Krempin, Drew Evers, Christopher Stewart, Antayvious Ellis and Jakore Smith.

Each of the aforementioned players has already picked up an offer from the Sooners.
Currently, Peterson Jr. holds one Division I offer, coming from Texas Tech in early February. After racking up 25 total touchdowns as a sophomore, however, the Jackrabbits' standout could see his recruitment pick up heading into his junior year.
If Peterson Jr. impresses Seth Littrell and Brent Venables on Saturday, it would not be surprising to see the talented signal caller earn an offer from Oklahoma.
So far, Littrell and company have offered six quarterbacks in the 2026 recruiting class. Legend Bey of Mesquite (TX) was the first sophomore QB to receive an offer from OU with Jared Curtis, Faizon Brandon, Noah Grubbs, Dereon Coleman and Jaden O'Neal all hearing from Littrell over the past few months.
With 4-star Kevin Sperry already on board the Sooners' 2025 recruiting class, the Oklahoma can focus its attention on securing a talented quarterback to lead the team's 2026 group.
