IPL wunderkinds Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi have been selected for India U19’s upcoming tour of England. While Mhatre has been appointed the captain of the team after having shone brightly in domestic cricket, Suryavanshi’s inclusion comes in the afterglow of his exploits at the IPL level. Notably, the southpaw has represented the India Colts earlier, even tonning up against Australia 19 in the red-ball format.

Both made their IPL bows this season with Mhatre joining CSK as a mid-season replacement for captain Ruturaj Gaikwad while Suryavanshi was picked by RR at the mega auction. Their IPL numbers have already made people take notice. Mhatre has played six games, aggregating 204 runs. with a strike rate of 187 including a fifty. Suryavanshi, meanwhile, equalled the fastest-ever T20 century by an Indian during his 28-ball feat against GT and has tallied 252 runs from seven games at a strike rate of 206, including a hundred and a fifty.

The England tour comprises of two multi-day games, five one-day games and a 50-over warm up game.
