Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill added 105 runs for the first wicket to lead India to a 6-wicket win over Pakistan in their Super 4 match of the Asia Cup 2025. Chasing 172 runs, the two openers never looked in trouble and treated rival bowlers like schoolboys. Abhishek scored 74 runs off 39 balls, laced with 6 fours and 5 sixes. His opening partner Gill amassed 47 runs off 28 deliveries, with the help of 8 boundaries.
Tilak Varma (30*) completed the proceedings in 18.5 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Earlier, Pakistan were looking all set to reach the near 200-run mark, but superb bowling by Kuldeep Yadav ( 2 wickets) and Shivam Dube (2 wickets) restricted the flow of runs in the middle overs.
Sahibzada Farhan was the top run-getter for the Men in Green, posting 58 runs off 45 balls, smashing 5 fours and 3 sixes in the process. Saim Ayub (21), Mohammad Nawaz (21), Faheem Ashraf (20) and Salman Agha (17) made useful contributions.
