The Ashes 2025/26 between Australia and England will take place from November to January. The first Test of the 5-match long series will take place at the Optus Stadium in Perth from November 21 to 25. Other matches will take place at the Gabba in Brisbane, the Adelaide Oval, the MCG in Melbourne, and the SCG in Sydney, respectively.
England has an indirect advantage for the first Test, as Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins will not be playing. Hence, they might win in Perth. The second Test will be at the Gabba in a pink-ball Test. Given their record in D/N Tests, Australia will be the favorites to win.
The third Test will take place in Adelaide, where England could win. In Melbourne, Australia could make a comeback and win to level the series 2-2. The series decider in Sydney could be won by England, ensuring their first-ever Ashes win away from home in 15 years.
It will be a highly important series for the batters, especially for Joe Root, who has never scored a hundred in Australia in Tests. However, Steve Smith could be the leading run-scorer. Someone like Jofra Archer could be the leading wicket-taker if he remains fit for the entire series. Otherwise, Mitchell Strac could end up finishing the series as the leading wicket-taker.
Ashes has a Player of the Series from both teams, just like the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. From the Australian side, Smith might win it, given he's still their best batter in the longest format of the game. On the other hand, if Ben Stokes bowls enough, he could be England's Player of the Series.
