Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan spinners stun Oman batters, secure 93-run win

Although Pakistan batters failed to impress, the spinners dismantled the batting unit of Oman in their campaign opener of the Asia Cup 2025. Chasing 161, Oman were dismissed for 67 runs in 16.4 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Saim Ayub, who failed to open his account in Pakistan’s batting innings, took two wickets. Sufiyan Muqeem also picked up two scalps. Shaheen Shah Afridi (1 wicket), Faheem Ashraf (2 wickets) and Mohammad Nawaz (1 wicket) bowled well.

Earlier, Mohammad Haris scored 66 runs off 43 balls, laced with 7 fours and 3 sixes. His knock played a key role in taking the Men in Green’s total to 160/7 in 20 overs.

Sahibzada Farhan (29), Fakhar Zaman (23*) and Mohammad Nawaz (19) also scored vital runs.
