Sri Lanka batters played small but important innings in Super Four Match 1 against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025. Litton Das won the toss and invited the rivals to bat first, a decision his bowlers failed to justify.

Kusal Mendis scored 34 runs off 25 balls, with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four. He added 44 runs for the first wicket with Pathum Nissanka, who managed 22 runs off 15 deliveries, laced with 3 fours and 1 six.

There were some hiccups in the middle when Kamil Mishara (5) and Kusal Perera (16) were dismissed without useful contributions. However, Dasun Shanaka and captain Charith Asalanka stabilise the innings.

Dasun accumulated an unbeaten 63 runs off 37 balls, including 6 sixes and 3 fours. On the other hand, Asalanka scored 21 runs, hitting 1 four and 1 six. The Lankans posted 168/7 in 20 overs.

Mustafizur Rahman (3 wickets) and Mahedi Hasan (2 wickets) were the most impressive bowlers for Bangladesh.
