Australian players mocked the Indian cricketers for refusing to shake hands with Pakistani counterparts in the Asia Cup 2025. The Continental Cup was full of drama and politics, with the Men in Blue winning the final against Pakistan. In the group stage match on September 14, India captain Suryakumar Yadav didn’t shake hands with Salman Ali Agha, and the rest of the players followed suit. The call was taken due to the political tensions between the two countries.
The video of the Australian cricketers making fun of the Men in Blue was uploaded by Kayo Sports.
“India are on its way and we know their weakness. They are not fans of the traditional greeting, so we can throw them off even before the first ball is bowled,” the anchor said.
Australian men and women cricketers suggested different ways of greeting that can be tried out without the Indian players.
However, the video was deleted after massive flak on social media.
Australia will be led by Mitchell Marsh as regular captain Pat Cummins hasn’t recovered from his back injury. The veteran pacer is also doubtful for the first Ashes Test against England. Cummins was injured during the three-match Test series against the West Indies, and despite being under medical supervision, he hasn’t shown a lot of improvement.
