For the 2026 IPL season, the BCCI has issued some strict new guidelines. In its latest directives, the board has clearly outlined what teams and players need to follow. According to reports, there are also some special provisions for matches to be held at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
- Teams will get 2 nets in the practice area and 1 side wicket on the main square for range hitting. At Wankhede Stadium, if both teams are practicing at the same time, each team will be allotted 2 pitches.
- No open nets will be allowed.
- If a team finishes its practice early, the other team will not be allowed to use that pitch for practice.
- Practice sessions have been banned on match days.
- Only accredited staff will be allowed in the dressing room and on the field of play. Family members of players will not be permitted inside.
- All players must travel only via the team bus.
- During post-match presentations, players will not be allowed to wear floppy or sleeveless jerseys. Violating this rule will result in a financial penalty. There are also different punishments for breaking other rules.
