Cheteshwar Pujara’s brother-in-law, Jeet Pabari, died by suicide at his home. The 30-year-old was taken to the hospital after being found unresponsive, but was declared dead on arrival. Police were informed about the case, and the body of Jeet was shifted to a hospital run by the state government for a post-mortem.
His family members took him to a private hospital after he didn’t respond. The family is in shock and is not in a position to record the statement. The police officers investigating the case have urged the people to refrain from any speculation until the probe is completed.
ACP B.J. Chaudhary confirmed Jeet’s death and highlighted the response by the police. “The family brought him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Police were informed, and now forensic experts will examine the home. The investigation team will revisit his house once the family is in a condition to record the statements,” he said.
“They can’t talk now, and the cause of his death is not clear, and it wouldn’t be right to comment further on the incident,” he added.
Police revealed that he was involved in a case a year ago after a woman lodged a complaint against him. He managed to get the anticipatory bail and also appeared before the investigating team. The chargesheet was filed after collecting the evidence during the probe. The officer further mentioned that no connection between the case and his death has been established.
Pabari was into import–export business, and there are no reports of financial losses or business issues. The next step will be taken after speaking to the family members and other witnesses. The inquiry will continue to establish a timeline and find out the real motive behind the extreme step.
