Set 155 to win from 18 overs under the DLS method, Hampshire looked steady with Lynn anchoring the chase. The turning point arrived in the 15th over when the Australian opener tore into Northamptonshire leg-spinner Lloyd Pope, launching five consecutive deliveries into the stands. The devastating burst not only swung the match decisively but also brought up Lynn’s century in just 49 balls, the first ever hundred recorded on Finals Day in the competition’s history.

Lynn’s unbeaten effort came from 51 balls, decorated with 11 sixes and 5 fours. Remarkably, no other Hampshire batter crossed 12 runs, leaving the chase almost entirely in his hands. Even as wickets tumbled around him, Lynn remained calm and ruthless, dictating the tempo from start to finish.
Earlier, Hampshire opted to field and struck quickly, reducing Northamptonshire to 86 for 6. Justin Broad then steadied the innings with a defiant 61 not out from 39 deliveries, adding vital runs with Luke Procter to lift the Steelbacks to 158 for 7 from their 18 overs. A rain interruption revised Hampshire’s target, but it did little to halt Lynn’s dominance.
By the time Lynn was done, Hampshire needed only eight runs from the last three overs and finished the chase with 14 balls left. His five sixes in one over against Pope secured Hampshire’s spot in the Vitality Blast 2025 final and made it a knock to remember.
