England Win Toss and Opt to Bowl vs India in T20 World Cup 2026 Semi-Final at Wankhede

The second semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 is underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as India take on England in what promises to be an intense encounter. England captain Harry Brook has won the toss and has opted to bowl first, banking on his bowlers to make early use of the conditions on offer.

The two sides are just one victory away from reaching the final and that sets up one of the biggest clashes of the tournament.

England opts to bowl

England captain Brook had this to say after winning the toss:

"We're going to have a bowl. Looks like a good wicket, hopefully we can get off to a good start with the ball. They've obviously got a lot more experience on this ground than us. T20 cricket is such a fickle game, you never know what's going to happen. Hopefully we can keep them quiet. Overton comes in for Rehan."

India captain Suryakumar Yadav stated that his side would have preferred to bat first but expressed confidence in the pitch and the conditions at Wankhede:

"We were looking to bat first. Semifinal, big game, and there's wind around too. Don't think there will be much dew. Looks a good one (the pitch). The best one. Credit to all the curators and groundsmen. Same team."
