India’s young cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has grabbed headlines with his stunning performance at the Under-19 Cricket World Cup. The 14-year-old smashed a blistering 175 to help India clinch a record sixth title. The Bihar-born star was scheduled to sit for his Class 10 board exams just days after the tournament ended. However, recent reports confirm that he will skip the exams this year.
Vaibhav, who lives in Tajpur, Bihar, studies at Modesty School, Tajpur. He was registered to appear for the Class 10 exams from February 17 to March 11. His cricket commitments required him to travel away from his house for extended periods which resulted in difficulties for his study schedule.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi will not appear for the 10th board examination this year.

Whoever made this decision—whether it was him or his father—has made the right choice. Because even if you don’t top the exam, you should at least study enough to be able to pass. pic.twitter.com/plYLvVKMM7
Adarsh Kumar Pintu, Director of Modesty School, Tajpur, stated that the school had completed his exam formalities and even issued his admit card. The family reached a decision after his father and he had a discussion about the examination.
The teenager first caught national attention with his explosive performances for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. The U-19 Cricket World Cup became his next competition where he continued his successful performance from previous tournaments because he finished as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer. Vaibhav accumulated 439 runs across seven matches while maintaining an exceptional batting average of 62.71 and a striking rate of 169.49.
He achieved one hundred and three half-centuries while breaking the tournament record by hitting 30 sixes which exceeded Dewald Brevis' previous record of 18 sixes. The U-19 ODI cricket matches have only started for Suryavanshi but he has already become India's top run-scorer because he has scored 1412 runs across 25 innings.
