Geoffrey Boycott throws shade at James Anderson urging England to find some ‘young seamers who can bowl 20 overs’

England cannot keep James Anderson wrapping in cotton wool and picking him on sentiment forever. In a year-and-a-half England’s next big challenge will be going to Australia to try and win back the Ashes. Geoffrey Boycott for the Telegraph

England have to find some young seamers who can bowl 20 overs and come back the next day ready for more. He added

Anderson will now feature for England in the summer of 2024, where they will host West Indies and Sri Lanka for a 3-Test series. Anderson will also play for his county team, Lancashire, while the England team participates in the 2024 T20I World Cup. 

Geoffrey Boycott says England were lucky Virat Kohli was not present 

Virat Kohli missed an entire Test series for the first time in his career when England came to tour India. He had missed it for the birth of his son, Akaay, who was born in February. While England did end up losing the series, Geoffrey Boycott believes the visitors were lucky that Kohli was not present, especially with their inexperienced bowling line-up. 

Inexperienced kids were never going to outbowl experienced Indian spinners in India. If anyone thought that then it was daft, wishful thinking. Geoffrey Boycott for The Telegraph

Kohli will now play Tests for India when Bangladesh tour India in September/October. Then India will host New Zealand for three Tests, which will then be followed up by India touring Australia for 5 Tests.
