Gujarat Titans (GT), led by Shubman Gill, have put themselves back in the playoff race with two successive wins. After losing to the Mumbai Indians at home and away to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the Titans have gone on to beat the Chennai Super Kings and then Rajat Patidar’s side in the return fixture.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) began their season well and were unbeaten in six matches. They suffered their first loss of the IPL 2026 against the Rajasthan Royals. Shreyas Iyer and his side were left stunned when Rajasthan Royals chased down a mammoth total to end their winning run. That loss, though, won’t deter Iyer or coach Ricky Ponting, as they will plot a quick turnaround.

Win the toss and bowl first will be the mantra for the captain who calls it right during the flip of the coin. In the last game between GT and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the home side batted well to register a four-wicket win with more than four overs left. Seamers will get good purchase early in the game, and there could be some turn on offer for the spinners. Batters will enjoy the generous carry the wicket tends to offer, and the small boundaries will also ensure that we could potentially witness a high-scoring game.

Singh has given his side great starts at the start of the innings and has formed a great partnership with Priyansh Arya, putting teams under relentless pressure.
Best bowler – Kagiso Rabada
South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has been the best bowler for his side in this current season. The 30-year-old is joint third in the list with 14 wickets so far and has been breaching the 150KPH mark with relative ease. Rabada will hold the key for the Titans as he can bowl well with the new ball, and his success against the top-order batters makes him a dangerous bowler to negotiate.
Despite suffering a loss in their last game, Punjab Kings will be the side that starts as favourites on Sunday. The two-time IPL runners-up have played amazing cricket this year. The conditions in Ahmedabad will suit their batters, who have a penchant for scoring quick runs and helping their team put up a big score. Even the bowling, which has been under pressure in the last few games, has players with experience and class to mount a firm comeback.
