On April 4, in the match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Gujarat Titans, the Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi achieved the record of being the youngest Indian to have 200 wickets in men's T20 cricket. He achieved the milestone after he bagged GT's Glenn Phillips, who was caught in the air during the 13th over.
Notably, Bishnoi was 25 years old and 211 days when he achieved the record. Earlier Arshdeep Singh had the record of the youngest bowler achieving 200 T20 wickets. Then he was 25 years and 296 days old in late 2024.
In the match between GT and RR, Bishnoi took two quick wickets in the over, also dismissing Sai Sudharsan for 73 earlier in his spell. Later, he came back and dismissed Washington Sundar for 4 and bowled out Rahul Tewatia for 12 runs. Not only that, he registered his best IPL bowling figure, 4/41, today.
Meanwhile, Nandre Burger got his 100th T20 wicket after he dismissed Jos Buttler in the 14th over.

Rajasthan Royals edged Gujarat Titans by 6 runs in a high-scoring thriller in Ahmedabad, successfully defending 210/6 despite a fierce chase led by Sai Sudharsan. The result was largely shaped by RR’s superior middle-overs batting output and Ravi Bishnoi’s decisive four-wicket spell.
After opting to bat, RR scored at 10.50 per over, powered by Dhruv Jurel’s 75 off 42, the highest score of the match. He found strong support from Yashasvi Jaiswal (55 off 36) and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi (31 off 18) as RR reached 126 by 12.3 overs before the innings accelerated through Hetmyer’s 18 off 8. Importantly, RR also collected 14 extras, including 13 wides, which proved vital in the final margin.
GT’s chase stayed statistically alive till the last ball, finishing at 204/8 at 10.20 run rate. Sai Sudharsan’s 73 off 44 kept them ahead of the asking rate through the first half, while late blows from Rashid Khan (24 off 16) and Kagiso Rabada’s unbeaten 23 off 16 nearly stole the game.
The turning point came when Ravi Bishnoi removed Sudharsan and later Rahul Tewatia in a match-defining spell. GT lost five wickets for 28 runs between 10.4 and 14.5 overs, and that collapse ultimately left them six runs short.
