After the match, Suryakumar Yadav urged the media not to call India–Pakistan encounters a rivalry, pointing out that India have now won all seven of their most recent meetings. Harbhajan echoed this statement online, sharing an image with the words ‘Greatest Rivalry’ altered to ‘One-sided Rivalry’.
Speaking after the Super 4 match, Suryakumar Yadav dismissed the idea of India–Pakistan being a rivalry, pointing out that the contests are now heavily one-sided in India’s favour whenever the two teams face each other.

“You should stop asking about an India–Pakistan rivalry. For me, a rivalry exists only if two teams play 15–20 matches and the results are close, like 7–7 or 8–7. But if it’s 10–0 or 10–1, whatever the numbers are, that’s not a rivalry anymore. We simply played better cricket than Pakistan,” Suryakumar Yadav said.

India, the current T20I world champions, have won 12 of their last 15 meetings with Pakistan in the format. Since the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup, they have registered seven consecutive victories over their arch-rivals in white-ball cricket.
