With the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 drawing closer, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, and Hardik Pandya have expressed their support and admiration for the women’s team.
They shared memories of Harmanpreet Kaur‘s dominance from their childhood, while also praising Jemimah Rodrigues for her energy and Richa Ghosh for her composure.
Shubman Gill fondly remembers watching the Indian women’s team captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, dominate bowlers.
“When I was around 10 or 11, she would come to the academy where I trained and play matches with us. I remember her smashing our bowlers all over the park. As a child, that was a rare sight for me. She played with aggression,” Shubman Gill told JioHotstar.
Shubman Gill expressed pride in seeing someone from Punjab rise to captain the country, especially Harmanpreet Kaur, whose success fills everyone with immense joy and pride.
“When someone rises through the ranks, particularly from our region in Punjab, and eventually gets the opportunity to captain the country, it’s a moment of great pride. Watching Harmanpreet achieve that with so much pride and joy is incredibly exciting,” he added.
Suryakumar Yadav, commended Jemimah Rodrigues and expressed confidence that she would excel in the upcoming World Cup.
He is also commended Jemimah Rodrigues for her exceptional energy and temperament.
“We can all learn a lot from her. In high-pressure games, she’s consistently delivered, and that’s something we all aim to replicate,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya also shared their support, reflecting the nation’s immense pride and confidence in the women’s team as they head into the World Cup on home soil.
