Pakistan has become extremely agitated over the handshake controversy. The situation is such that the PCB even threatened the ICC with a boycott of the Asia Cup, but Pakistan had to face embarrassment nonetheless. Pakistan has demanded that the ICC immediately remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the Asia Cup. They allege that he was the one who told Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha not to shake hands with Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav at the toss.
Furthermore, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stated that if their demands are not met, they will boycott the Asia Cup. However, according to a report by Cricbuzz, the ICC has completely rejected PCB’s demand. The ICC clarified that the match referee had no role in this matter; he merely conveyed a message from the Indian team to the Pakistani captain.
