Amanjot Kaur’s brilliant fielding resulted in the run out of Tazmin Brits in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final between India and South Africa in Navi Mumbai.

Brits played a shot and tried to take a single, with the hope of making it to the non-striker’s end. However, Amanjot, who was fielding at mid-on, had one-and-a-half stump to aim and nailed a direct him to find the batter short.

The Indian players erupted in joy, knowing the opening batter was short of the crease. Brits scored 23 runs off 35 balls, with the help of 2 fours and 1 six.

Earlier, the Proteas managed to keep the Women in Blue to 298/7, despite a sensational start given by Smriti Mandhana (45) and Shafali Varma (87). Although Deepti Sharma scored a fifty, she couldn’t hit big shots in the death overs.

Ayabonga Khaka took three wickets and conceded 58 runs from 3 overs.
