Indian batters justified captain Suryakumar Yadav’s decision to bat first after winning the toss against Oman in the Asia Cup 2025. Sanju Samson, who was promoted in the batting order, scored 56 runs off 45 balls, laced with 3 fours and 3 sixes. The other batters also showed their class, hitting fours and sixes.

Abhishek Sharma was the most impressive among the lot, accumulating 38 runs off 15 runs at a strike rate of 253.33. Axar Patel also went after the bowlers, managing 26 runs off 13 deliveries, laced with 3 fours and 1 six.

Tilak Varma was among the runs in the third and final game of the group stage. The southpaw posted 29 runs off 18 deliveries, including 2 sixes and 1 four. The Men in Blue scored 188/8 in the allotted 20 overs.

For Oman, Shah Faisal (2 wickets), Jiten Ramanandi (2 wickets), and Aamir Kaleem (2 wickets) bowled well.
