India batter Sai Sudharsan was spotted enjoying a sandwich during the second Test against the West Indies in Delhi. He did not take the field after sustaining an injury on Day 2 while fielding at short leg during the West Indies’ first innings. Sudharsan had taken a close-range catch off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling to dismiss John Campbell but had to leave the field for treatment afterward.
Devdutt Padikkal replaced him as a substitute fielder. The young left-hander was seen sitting outside the boundary line in Team India’s training kit, legs folded, casually enjoying his snack. You can watch the video here:

Batting at number three in the first Test, Sai Sudharsan was unable to make an impact. With India batting only once in the match, he managed just seven runs from 19 deliveries.
After a disappointing first Test, Sai Sudharsan made a strong comeback in the second match. In India’s first innings, the left-hander played a crucial innings, scoring a solid 87 off 165 balls, including 12 boundaries. This marked only his second half-century in Test cricket.
Although he later had to leave the field during the game, his innings proved significant and would have boosted his confidence. With Sudharsan being considered for the number three spot in India’s Test lineup, performances like this are key to cementing his place.
He had previously shown glimpses of his talent during the England tour but had not fully convinced, scoring 140 runs in six innings at an average of 23.33, with just one fifty. In his four Tests so far, Sudharsan has amassed 234 runs at an average of 29.25, including two half-centuries.
His first-class record highlights his potential in the longer format, with 2,352 runs in 35 matches at an average of 39.86, including eight centuries and eight fifties.
